Spain album review:

Overall impression:
The second and the last album of Between the Trees does not offer any big surprises. The album contains energetic piano-rock songs as did their the first album "The Story And the Song". The songs can keep your interested for a while, but after it you get quite bored. The songs are nice, but nothing more. They offer you the normal pop-cliches but soon you start to notice that something, the real catch, is missing. The way this band sounds reminds me a lot of The Fray, but unfortunate for Between the Trees, The Fray does everything much better. "Spain" is not definitely a bad album, but not very good either, but I assume that the fans of the band were not disappointed. But I assume this album didn't get much more new fans for the band either.

The best track:
The last track, "Changed by You", is in my opinion the best track of the album. It saves the album after a couple of quite boring tracks. It also gives the reason to listen the whole album again. I liked also a lot about the first track "We Can Try". So it could be said that the album starts and ends nicely.

The worst track:
It was quite difficult to choose which track was the worst track on the album, since the album contains a lot of similar songs. But I think the one I liked the least was the title track "Spain". It is just a boring song that brings nothing new to this genre or even to the discography of Between the Trees.

The best line of lyrics:
The lyrics of the whole album are somewhat pathetic teen lovestories. But then, a great amount of the fans of the band are in their teens as well. It was really hard to find a piece of lyrics that would stand out, but the one I chose was "Scarecrow". The lyrics are a bit different and more universal compared to other songs. And the line that touched the most was about the idea we all have thought sometimes: "Maybe I wasn't made for this world".
