Bon Jovi discography highlights

  • Bon Jovi was found in Sayreville, United States in 1983. The original lineup of the band consisted of singer Jon Bon Jovi, keyboardist David Bryan, drummer Tico Torres, lead guitarist Richie Sambora, bassist Alec John Such and guitarist Dave Sabo. Sabo and Such have left the band since then. Hugh McDonald was appointed as an unofficial bass player of the band in 1994. At first the band was supposed to be called Johnny Electric but an employee of Mercury Records suggested band to take the name Bon Jovi, to follow the road taken by bands like Van Halen.
  • In January 1984 Bon Jovi released their self-titled debut studio album through Mercury Records. Bon Jovi album was produced by Tony Bongiovi and Lance Quinn. The first single released from the album was Runaway released in 1983. Over three and a half million copies of the album have been sold globally and it was certified double platinum in the US and gold in Canada and Switzerland. In Finland, the album peaked at number 18 on the album chart, which was the best chart position for the album.
  • "7800° Fahrenheit", released in March 1985 is the second studio album of Bon Jovi, but it was not as successful as it's predecesor, although for example it charted better in the US compared to "Bon Jovi". "Fahrenheit" was certified platinum in the US and Canada, and worldwide it has sold 2,5 million copies. Lance Quinn continued as producer.
  • "Slippery When Wet", released in August 1986 through Mercury and Vertigo is the third studio album of Bon Jovi and it was produced by Bruce Fairbairn. The tracks "You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' on A Prayer", "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Never Say Goodbye" were released as singles. "Slippery When Wet" reached the number one position on the album charts of the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands, Canada, Australia and the United States. The album has sold over 28 million units worldwide and in the United States it has been certified 12 times platinum.
  • The fourth studio recording of Bon Jovi was released in September 1988 through Mercury Records in the US and through Vertigo in Europe. The album was called "New Jersey" and "Bad Medicine" and "Born to Be My Baby" where the two first singles of the album. "New Jersey" have sold over 18 million copies worldwide and it reached the top position on the album charts in six countries including Sweden, Switzerland and Canada.
  • In September 2005 Bon Jovi released their ninth studio album "Have A Nice Day" via Island Records. The title track "Have A Nice Day" published in 30th of August 2005 was the first single of the album. The single reached the top ten of single charts in twelve countries. The album itself topped at the album charts in seven countries and have sold over seven million units globally.
  • The twelft part of the Bon Jovi discography was released in March 2013 and it was called "What About Now" through Island Records. "Because We Can" was the first single of the album published. In 23 countries, the album reached the top ten of the album charts. Six of these were number one positions including countries like the United States, Austria and Spain.
