Coldplay discography highlights:

• Coldplay was formed in London, England in 1997 although, the band was called Starfish back then. Before they signed the major recording deal with Parlophone, the band recorded "Safety EP" and "Brothers And Sisters EP" under an independent label Fierce Panda. Parachutes was released in July 2000 and it debuted at number on on the UK charts. Album's singles also got a lot of radio air in the UK and also in America.
• In October 2002 Coldplay returned to the studio with the producer Ken Nelson, who had been producing the group's debut album as well. The album "A Rush of Blood to the Head" came to the record stores in August. The singles "Clocks" and "In My Place" won both Grammy awards.
• Coldplay's first live-album was released after they had returned from the world-tour and was called simply "Live 2003". The release included a CD and DVD containing the highlights of the tour. In December 2003, Coldplay was chosen the best artist and the best band of the year by the readers of Rolling Stone.
• Coldplay's widely anticipated third album "X & Y" was released in June 2005 and it became a huge success selling over 8 million copies worldwide. It is also the third-fastest selling album in the UK chart history. The first single of the album was "Speed of Sound" and it was followed by the singles "Fix You" and "Talk". After the release of the album, Coldplay began another world-tour that lasted over a year. They also played in Live 8 concert in Hyde Park. "X & Y" were chosen the best album in the BRIT Awards.

"Violet Hill" was the first single of the Coldplay's forth album "Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends" and it was released before the actual album came to the stores. The album was released on 15th of June 2008 and three days after its release, it had sold already over 300 000 copies. It also became the most-downloaded album ever. Album was produced by Brian Eno. "Viva la Vida" was followed by the EP "Prospekt's March" which included some outtakes from the "Viva la Vida" and its sessions. "Prospekt's March" contains also a new version of the song "Lost" which was recorded with Jay-Z.
In May 2009, Coldplay released its second live album called LeftRightLeftRightLeft. The album were made available only as a digital copy at first, and it could be downloaded free from their website. Later it was released as a real album as well.
Coldplay's fifth studio album was called "Mylo Xyloto" and it was released in late October 2011 via Parlophone. The album debuted at number one on the US album chart selling over 400,000 copies on its first week. "Every Teardrop is A Waterfall" was the first single released from the album.
