- The first incarnation of Linkin Park was formed by Mike Shinoda, Rob Bourdon and Brad Delson in 1996 at Agoura Hills, California, United States although the band was called Xero back then. In 1999 Chester Bennington became the main singer of the band and the band changed its name first to "Hybrid Theory" and then to Linkin Park. Other line-up changes had also happened during that time.
- The debut album "Hybrid Theory" was released in October 2000 by Warner Bros label and it was a huge commercial success story all around the globe. "Hybrid Theory" was produced by Don Gilmore and the first single of the album was "One Step Closer". The album was on top of the charts everywhere peaking at number 2 on US Billboard Album chart and Austrian, German, Italian and Australian album charts. In New Zealand the album reached the number one spot. The album has received platinum certification in 18 countries including 10 x platinum in United States.
- The second album "Meteora" released in March 2003 was even bigger success compared to its predecessor. The album became the number one on album charts in fourteen countries including United States, UK, Mexico and Italy. Don Gilmour produced the album along with the band itself and the first single released in March 2003 was "Somewhere I Belong".
- The third album of the band called "Minutes to Midnight" released in May 2007 was even bigger hit than "Meteora" reaching the number one spot on 16 countries and the second place on eight countries. Platinum certification was given to the album in eleven countries. "Minutes to Midnight" spend almost two years on US Billboard 200 album chart.
