Poets of the Fall gained the attention of the bigger crowds, when their song "Late Goodbye" was feature on the Max Payne 2 soundtrack. The lyrics of "Late Goodbye" were written by a programmer from the Remedy Entertainment, which developed released the Max Payne game. Marco Saaresto, the singer of Poets of the Fall then turned the lyrics into beautiful song. Later, the song "War" from their forth album "Twilight Theater" was featured on Alan Wake game's soundtrack. The band also made two songs that were written only for the game. Those songs are "Children of the Elder God" and "The Poet and The Muse".

The song Lift was featured as a part on Futuremark's 3DMark software in 2005.

All the Poets of the Fall albums so far have been released under their own record label Insomniac.

The actual band has remained as a trio, but on stage the band is usually accompanied by another guitarist, bass player and drummer.

The name of their first album "Signs of Life" comes from an instrumental song made by "Pink Floyd" and which was featured on their "A Momentary Lapse of Reason", released in 1987.

The first compilation of the band was released in March 2011 and along with their best tracks it also includes every music video the band has made so far.
