The Band Perry was formed in 2005 in Greeneville, Tennessee, United States by siblings Kimberly, Neil and Reid Perry.
The band was found by manager of Garth Brooks Bob Doyle, who helped them to record demo songs. Eventually The Band Perry received a recording deal Republic Nashville label in August 2009.
The Band Perry released its first single "Hip to My Heart" in November 2009 and it reached the US Country Songs chart peaking at number 20 spending 21 weeks on the list.
"The Band Perry EP" was released in April 2010 and it contained the hit single "Hip to My Heart" and four additional tracks. The EP was the band's first release under Republic Nashville. Nathan Chapman and Paul Worley featured as producers of the EP.
The Band Perry's self-titled debut full-length album was released in October 2010 by Republic Nashville. The album peaked at number 4 on US Billboard 200 Album chart spending a whole year on the chart. The album also reached the second place on Billboard's Country Albums chart. The album sold 53,000 copies on its debuting week. The album contains all the five track from the "The Band Perry EP" and had also the same producers.
