The Calling discography highlights:
-
The founding members of "The Calling", Alex Band and Aaron Kamin met each other when Kamin was dating with Band's sister.
-
Band and Kamin started writing songs in 1996 and also formed a band called "Generation Gap" which later changed it name to "Next Door".
-
After sending several demo tapes to music business executive Ron Fair, Fari became impressed enough to grant them a major recording deal with RCA.
-
The Calling used about two years of time to record their debut album "Camino Palmero". The album was eventually released in July 2001 and it received a lot of attention. The first single of the album "Wherever You Will Go" was featured in the movie "Coyote Ugly" and also in an episode of TV series "Smallville". The album has sold over five million copies worldwide.

In June 2004 the band's second album "Two" was released. It was said that the name of the album emphasizes the relationship between Kamin and Band and also that despite a changing line-up of touring and studio musicians, The Calling was actually a two-man band. "Two" were nowhere near as successful as "Camino Palmero" was, and in 2005 The Calling went to an indefinite hiatus.

Billboard Magazine has named "Wherever You Will Go" the "#1 Pop Song of the Decade".
