The Starting Line discography highlights:
- In 1999 guitarist Matt Watts emailed vocalist and bass-player Kenny Vasoli if he would be interested in jamming with him. Soon, a band started to form itself and they started to record songs. The band called itself "Sunday Drive" and received a recording deal with We the People Records.
- The recording deal with We the People Records were soon switch with a deal with Drive-Through Records. This happened in April 2001. Also the band's name was changed to The Starting Line, since a band called "Sunday Drive" already existed.
- The band's first EP "With Hopes of Starting Over" was released by Drive-Through Records in June 2001 and it was co-produced by Chris Badami.
- In July 2002, a year after the release of their first EP, The Starting Line released their first full-length album. The album was called "Say It Like You Mean It". The album peaked at number 109 on US Billboard 200 albums chart.
