  • The Subways was formed in Welvyn Garden City, England in 2003 by guitarist and vocalist Billy Lunn, bass-player Charlotte Cooper and drummer Josh Morgan. At the first the trio called themselves "Mustardseed" which was later changed for "Platypus". Finally the name The Subways was chosen which refers the days the singer Billy Lunn used to hang outside subway station.
  • The band's debut album was released in July 2005 and was called "Young for Eternity". The album was produced by Ian Broudie who have worked with artists like "The Zutons", "Republica" and "Echo & The Bunnymen". The album peaked at number 32 on UK Album chart and at number 65 on German chart. It also reached TOP20 on US Billboard's Heatseekers Album chart spending four weeks on the chart and peaking at number 15.
  • Their second album "All or Nothing" was released by Warner Bros. In June 2008. Butch Vig produced the album and it reached the 17th spot on UK Album chart.
  • "Money And Celebrity" is the third album of The Subways and it was released in 18th of September 2011 by Warner Bros label. The album was produced by Stephen Street who is known of his work with band like "The Cranberries" and "Kaiser Chiefs". The first single from the album was "We Don't Need Money to Have A Good Time" released in 11th of September 2011.
