The Wonder Years was formed in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, United States in 2005. The band's name is taken from the TV series "The Wonder Years". All the band members had earlier played together in the band called "Premier". When "Premier" split up The Wonder Years was formed.

The band released its first full-length album independently in 2007. The album featuring 12 tracks was called "Get Stoked on It!".

Quite soon after the release of "Get Stoked on It!", the band signed a recording deal with No Sleep Records.

"The Upsides" is the second album full-length album of The Wonder Years and it was released by No Sleep Records in January 2010. The album was produced by Vince Ratti. The first single of the album was "Washington Square Park".

The third album of The Wonder Years was released in June 14 and was called "Suburbia I've Given You All And Now I'm Nothing". The album was produced by Steve Evetts and it spent one week on the Billboard 200 album chart peaking number 73. This was the band's first album to reach TOP200 on the US album chart.
